Well you have been through just about every diet out there and things are not looking good. They all promise incredible results only to fail to deliver, and if they do work, the weight comes pouring back on as soon as you stop the diet. Or perhaps for the very small percentage of diets that do actually work, they only do so because of forcing you to endure incredibly grueling methods that makes life plain miserable. Well that’s all a thing of the past with the every other day diet. So what’s the deal with this latest diet that has been spreading across the Internet, and what does the name refer to?
Well, as you might’ve guessed, the every other day diet plan refers to a system where you can switch between normal days in which you enjoy all the food you want and specialized calorie reduced days, instead of having to torture yourself each and every day. That’s right, you read correctly. This diet only requires you to cut back every second day, which means only half of your life. You can still enjoy all the food you want on the other half. Essentially you enjoy a normal diet (suggested to be between 1900 -2500 calories for males and 1300 to 1700 calories for women depending on body weight) on the normal days, and on “every other day” reduce that amount by between 250 – 500 calories. Of course all the details including meal plans of exactly how to do so is fully provided in the diet. There are even specialized cheat days where you can go more overboard on the “normal days”, but the every other day must be strictly adhered to.
You can already probably hear the thousands of people screaming whether every other day diet scam, but I can honestly say after trying the diet program myself and recommending it to my friends that it does work. People might wonder how it’s possible to lose weight while still enjoying the food you want every other day, but when you think about it, it’s pretty simple. You’re still reducing your overall calorie intake when taking a long-term perspective, it’s just much easier to do so. Of course it will take a little bit longer to drop pounds since you’re not reducing your calories every day, only every other day. This is where this diet shines from a psychological level however. Since you’re always looking forward to that next day where you can enjoy the foods you want, you’ll be incredibly motivated to stick with it long term. This means you won’t only lose weight but you will keep it off indefinitely as you learn to adapt your lifestyle, rather than the dangerous ups and downs of crash dieting.
In summing up this every other day diet review, we can see that on the positive side the diet is grounded in a scientific understanding of body metabolism and is incredibly easy to follow, it doesn’t involve any dangerous or expensive supplement products whether in the form of pills or powders or herbs, and since it’s simply a basic guide to follow where you aren’t required to buy specialized food, it’s cheaper than a one-time consultation with a dieting professional, but you can follow this program for life. There are a few downsides however, especially always needing the commitment to get through those every other fasting days, as well as to fully adhere to the program you will be required to do a minimum amount of cardiovascular exercise. Finally, due to the limitations of the every other day, while this is an excellent program for losing modest amounts of weight of no more than 50 pounds, it may be less useful for dropping more than that.
